It’s another sea day as the Carnival Glory circles in the Western Caribbean.
Morning
I started my morning with a coffee from Creams and went up to the Lido buffet so I could journal and enjoy the sea view while waiting for T. to join me for breakfast. The sea is much calmer today and it’s sunny.
My breakfast selection was a made to order omelette where they had run out of pre-shredded cheddar so the cheese option was mozzarella. Not as good but still tasty.
We then went to the room to get ready for the pool. Our room steward made sure we got our new cabin keys so we wouldn’t get locked out.
We had to use our original key for purchases and the new one to get in our cabin.
Today I wanted a chair in the shade and had no problem finding one. It was even emptier than the day before.
While there it did get cloudier and we never had hot sun. I had a relaxing time reading, “swimming” and people watching. I also visited the rum bar for a ting mojito. I discovered this drink while on the Carnival Miracle last year.
They were out of Tevis cups so I bought a couple from the Blue Iguana tequila bar; one for the sister that stayed home and helped us with travel arrangements and one for me.
Afternoon
At noon I got a guy’s burger and fries for lunch followed by a chocolate ice cream cone.
After that it was shower and nap time.
I got the information regarding priority debarkation and started packing before heading to the Alchemy Bar.
Evening
It was hard to say good bye to these two guys!
I used my free drink coupon and then bought one before heading to dinner where I took my leftover wine to finish.
One of the couples I knew from the bar (Melissa and James) were at a 10 seat table close to us and their table had dwindled to just them so they joined us tonight. It was good to have six of us again!
The menu tonight was a repeat of the Grand Cayman menu without the ports of call items that i loved! I had navy bean soup and…
The spring rolls. I missed ordering them the first time around because I was afraid they were the non-crunchy ones.
For entree I went with the always good flat iron steak.
Dessert was good old apple pie.
I then went and finished packing before heading to the Lip Sync battle.
When I first heard that Carnival was adding Lip Sync battle to their entertainment lineup, I thought it would be lame. It was a lot of fun.
Dustin was a follow-up act and he was pretty funny. I normally don’t pay attention to the cruise director unless they’re really annoying. He’s thebest one I recall having in 20 some cruises.
Then it was back to the Alchemy Bar for what I thought would be my last drinks of the cruise. Well, the captain came on over the loudspeaker about 10 pm and announced that the port of Miami wasn’t fully operational and we wouldn’t be docking until late afternoon or evening. We can stay on-board Tuesday night if we want and disembark Wednesday.
T. and I let our sister know and she changed our flights to Wednesday. Unfortunately, my 2 pm flight was full so it was pushed to 3:49 pm. I will try to get an earlier flight when I check in.
I decided to make it a party night since I didn’t have to travel Tuesday and ordered another drink before heading to the piano bar with Kristine and Margaret. We had a lot of fun singing and left about 11 pm to get pizza. We went back to the alchemy bar with it and closed it down. I had already switched to ginger ale at the piano bar and still was drunk!
Tonight’s towel animal reflected what I was feeling. Although I’d prefer to have the cruise originally booked, I loved this adventure and meeting so many great people.
