When you live in a large city, most organized races are crowded. The New Year’s 5K I did ended up being a 10K because of the round-trip distance to parking. That’s why I was excited to learn about virtual races.
Losing Weight and Having Fun introduced me to virtual races with the Across the Pond 5K she ran back in January. Then one of my weight loss buddies told our Weight Watchers meeting about Will Run for Bling where you can find virtual runs regularly.
I immediately signed up for Our Heroes 5K in honor of Memorial Day and completed it Monday. I can’t wait to get my medal. My favorite things about virtual runs are:
- Run/Walk at your convience
- You choose the route
- No parking hassles
This doesn’t mean I won’t do in person runs, just that there are other options. Now, on to the workout summary.
What I did This Week
Wednesday: Walked 1.5 mile route at the office with coworkers. These guys walk fast so it was a challenge even though it was short.
Thursday: Sparkpeople Boot Camp DVD (Did you enter the giveaway yet?)
Friday: 3 mile morning walk with hubby.
Saturday: Rest day with 9,600 steps
Sunday: Pilates, 9,850 steps
Monday: Our Heroes 5K, 13,000 Steps
Tuesday: Rest Day
Not a bad week although I could have used one more strength session. How was your workout week?
