Thanks to Fit Approach and Vega Sport I received a box of the Vega Sport Sugar-Free Energizer to try and share my thoughts with you. I was excited to try this product for several reasons:
1. It’s sugar free. For someone watching caloric intake and sugar this is important.
2. It is plant-based. I like using fuel with natural ingredients.
3. I’m looking for an alternative to carb-heavy pre-workout foods.
All of these made the #FuelYourBetter campaign a perfect match.
The Vega Sport Sugar-Free Energizer is designed to:
- boost endurance
- enhance mental focus
- increase energy
These are all things I can use when I’m exercising first thing in the morning. My usual exercise activities (Pilates, walking for about an hour and strength training) are the right duration and intensity for this product.
I tried the Acai Berry flavor of Vega Sport Sugar-Free Energizer. It also comes in Lemon Lime. Now, I don’t know what an acai berry is but was surprised when mixed with a cup or so of cold water it became an orange beverage! I was expecting red or purple.
I couldn’t get all the granules mixed in despite vigorous stirring. It was pleasant tasting and I had no problem getting it down. It is advised to have the Vega Sport Sugar-Free Energizer mix about 20 minutes before exercise.
I then went for a 40 minute fast-paced walk and had plenty of energy for the hilly route and felt good the entire time despite heading out without my usual banana. I will definitely be using this for those mornings when I don’t want to eat before getting started with exercise.
