San Diego Resolution Run 5K

I walked a 5K today and all I got to show for it was this plant!  Actually, I got a lot more out of it such as a fun outing with friends and good exercise.  The event was the San Diego Resolution Run 15K/5K at Mission Bay.

This was the scene as we waited for the 5K to start.  We were in the fourth wave of that run.  Unfortunately, the route was not well set up for walkers despite indications being it was a run/walk event.

By the time we got to the one water station on the 5K route, it was out of water.  Then the finish line routing for the 5K was removed so we lost the route and finished up at the 15K finish line.  Because of this, I have no idea how long it actually took but my Fitbit shows I walked over six miles between the 5K and getting back and forth to the car.  Pretty nice walk!

What’s on your exercise plate this weekend?

It was annoying that they weren’t prepared for actual walkers but you couldn’t have asked for a prettier route or more gorgeous weather, could you? Thank you so much for walking it with me – perhaps we’ll be running a 5K in a year!

I did forget to mention how gorgeous it was outside. Also, I really enjoyed meeting new friends. Thanks for asking me to be part of your team.

5k walk. Wow! It’s been a while since I last did that.

My normal walking routes are 5Ks but being in a race setting definitely amps up my pace. If you’re interested, just sign up for one and start training.
