Nutrisystem D Update: Week 5 #NSNation

KayLynn · March 3, 2014 · 1 Comment

I'm proud to be a #NSNationBlogger. Click here to start your weight loss journey!

It was so good to get back to the routine of healthy eating and following the Nutrisystem D plan.  I especially couldn’t wait to eat my favorite entree, Lasagne with Meat Sauce!

I thought I would share more about the D part of the plan I’m on.  It stands for Diabetes and is the recommended plan for members with pre-diabetes or diabetes.  With over 150 low-glycemic menu items I have plenty of options!

In addition to the usual member features to log food, water, exercise and more there’s a log for glucose readings.  Every week there’s a dietician chat for all members but once a month there’s a chat with certified diabetes educators. Of course, I can speak with a counselor any day. This is all included!

What I Ate This Week

Every day I track food from my phone or computer.  Here are some of the meals I had this past week.

Mushroom-stuffed chicken breast.

I put off trying the Spicy Kung Pao noodles because I was afraid of the word “spicy”.  They were just right and I loved them!

As I mentioned Friday, I was at a blog conference Friday afternoon through Saturday.  I packed healthy snacks like almonds, string cheese, carrots and celery.  I ate a Nutrisystem breakfast but had two dinners and one lunch out.  I tracked everything and ate within my daily calorie range.

The bad news is that restaurant food is much saltier than what I eat on a daily basis so it did impact today’s weigh-in a bit.

Weekly Progress

I was down but not as much as I expected. I think it’s due to water retention from the restaurant dining.  My rings are really tight this morning.  I can guarantee you I’ll be down a pound tomorrow morning. 🙂

This isn’t a race and it will work out in the end with a bigger loss next week.  See my week by week results below.

Disclosure: Nutrisystem is providing me with the meal plan in exchange for blogging about my journey with no other compensation.  All opinions expressed are 100% mine.

Eating out the day before weigh in always makes my loss lower (or non-existent) due to sodium. So, I think your loss was great.
