Are germs floating around your office, church or other gathering places? Something has been going around my office for a month and I’ve been avoiding it so far but it’s worrisome.
One of things I do a lot is wash my hands. That simple step will go a long way to keeping one well. Here’s what is on my mind this week.
Free Healthy Living eBooks
Did you know there are hundreds of free eBooks available every day at Amazon.com? My kindle has over 1,000 books on it at this moment and I paid for just one of them. You don’t even have to have a Kindle to read them. There’s an app for mobile devices and PCs.
Here are two that are available today (affiliate links present): 27 Weight Loss Secrets That Will Change Your Life and Healthy Shrimp Recipes. Be sure to check the price before downloading as they change fast on Amazon.
Go Red for Women
Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women in the United States, claiming more lives than all forms of cancer combined. It killed my mother and her mother. For more than 10 years, the American Heart Association has sponsored National Wear Red Day to raise awareness in the fight against heart disease in women.
Get ready to celebrate National Wear Red Day with Go Red For Women on Friday, Feb. 7, 2014 to help fight women’s No. 1 killer—heart disease. Here’s a cute, brief Lego video about Go Red for Women.
Workouts Update
You haven’t seen a Workout Wednesday post the past couple of weeks. There are two reasons. The first week was because I wore myself out working out so often it was all I could do to get through the work day. I forget that my hypothryroidism means I have to make sure I conserve energy. I walked once that week.
The next week I decided to stop the walking and let my hip flexor heal. It’s been hurting for over a month and I wasn’t giving it any rest. I’ve been working out this week with upper body strength training and overall stretching and yoga. I did find this excellent article on dealing with hip flexor strain.
New Clothes
My wardrobe isn’t very extensive because I’m waiting to get to my forever weight before filling the closets. But I’m really getting tired of the same old pants and tops since my weight has been so stable the past seven months. I’m just about too the point of getting down to a smaller size and can’t wait.
Then I can buy a few new clothes to wear over and over again. 🙂 My co-workers are probably just as sick of my same clothes as I am.

That’s it for this week. What’s new in your life?
