Introducing the Carnival of Healthy Living

Before I started focusing on health and wellness my blogging focus was personal finance.  I don’t miss writing about all things financial (most of the time) but I do miss the camaraderie and community from participating in the many blog carnivals in that niche.

There was the Money Stories carnival, Yakezie carnival, Carnival of Money Pros, Carnival of Personal Finance, Carnival of Debt and so on.  I haven’t found that in the health and wellness field so decided to start my own.

What is a Blog Carnival?

A blog carnival is a curation of articles on the selected topic (in this case healthy living) that have been published on a blog.  The carnivals are usually published at regular intervals. Each blog carnival has their own rules about the submission but these are common ones:

  1.  Published in a certain timeframe
  2. Not marketing or selling products/services
  3. Relevant to the selected topic

There’s usually a host which may be rotated among blogs in the niche.  The host selects their theme of the carnival to make it fun.  Participants are expected to promote the carnival and link back to it when sharing with their readers. It spreads the word about the great blogs out there to new audiences.

Carnival of Healthy Living

Since I couldn’t find blog carnivals in the health/fitness/weight loss blogging realm I decided to start one.  They said if you build it, they will come.  I’m taking a leap of faith and hoping my fellow bloggers do participate.  Both in submissions and hosting.

The inaugural edition of the Carnival of Healthy Living is scheduled for January 27th.  If you are a blogger in the health/wellness niche please submit your articles HERE by Sunday afternoon.  There’s more details about submission guidelines and hosting at the Carnival of Healthy Living page.  If you have any questions afterwards, email me at admin at weightchronicles dot com.

Let’s make this carnival a success.  I’m looking forward to reading and sharing your work!

I blog about living healthy, green and natural by design at UrbanNaturale.com so this carnival should be a great fit!
    Thanks for hosting!

Hi Deborah, Nice to meet you! I appreciate your support of this carnival. I’m hoping the participation builds once it gets going. Thanks!
