Carnival Miracle: November 2, 2013, Ensenada

KayLynn · November 2, 2013 · Leave a Comment

We don’t arrive in Ensenada until 3 pm so most of the day was a sea day really. We were up at 6 am and had coffee before checking email. I had my last latte from the fountain café.

We went to the dining room at 7:30 am. I met another weight loss blogger which was fun! We’ve lost the same amount of weight this year.

Afterwards we watched the debarkation video and packed before lunch in the main dining room.

I didn’t take notes on the rest of the day so it’ll be light on details.

landho

After lunch we spotted land .  It was nice to see after so many days at sea but also signified the cruise was coming to an end.

dolphins

We watched a pod of dolphins swim alongside the ship.  All I got was this picture full of splashes. 🙂

inspiration

The Carnival Inspiration was already in port when we docked.  There were shuttles available to take people downtown for $3 per person.  We headed to a bar we remember fondly from our youth.

hussongs-exterior

Hussongs Cantina was a rousing place in the late 70’s and 80’s.  It was pretty sleepy when we visited but that didn’t stop us from having a great time.

Small margaritas were just $2 and I think the large were $5.

enjoying-margaritas

We certainly enjoyed the margaritas!  After a couple I decided we better do our shopping before we were too “happy”.

charger-bag

I bought the cute fabric Charger backpack and a bottle of Kahlua.  (Isn’t this bench made from a surfboard a great idea!)

ensenada

We taste-tested margaritas at a couple of more bars on the way back to the shuttle stop.  When we got back to the pier, the Inspiration was blowing her horn for a couple of people running down the pier.

Believe it or not, we made it to the dining room for our last dinner onboard.

11-2dinner1

If I had to guess I would say I had the crab cake while Steve had the Navy Bean soup for starters.  We probably selected the jumbo shrimp and Prime Rib for entrees.

11-2dinner2

I definitely picked the souffle while Steve got the diet apple pie.

final-towel

Our final towel creation was not an animal but very fitting.  It was going to be hard to leave the ship the next day.
