It’s St. Patrick’s Day and I’m home with a cold. My first symptoms started during my business trip to Chicago area this week and graduated to a full blown cold yesterday. Ugh!
Although it was cold during my travels, I enjoyed the work and company of one of my co-workers. We had a couple of good dinners (and one so-so at the airport).
That osso buco in the photo was soooo good. I could only eat about half after the delicious salad and maybe a slice or two of wonderful bread.
This week also marked the first days working from home until the new office building is ready.
Everything’s set up except for my VOIP phone which requires a hard wire. I have an extender coming from Amazon that should resolve that issue. I’m sure this experience of working from home will crop up in future blog posts.
Retirement Journeys shared interesting results from their 2018 Retirement Survey. Of note is that most retirees were positively surprised with the benefits of retirement.
Looking to make a traditional St. Patrick’s day dish? I’m a fan of Shepherd’s Pie as long as beef replaces the traditional lamb. LaaLoosh shares a recipe for a lower fat version.
A Cork, Fork, & Passport shares a delicious looking recipe for Split Pea soup. First let me say what a cool blog name. The recipe is easy enough for me to finally make my first pot of this type of soup this spring.
I’m not a big fan of nonfiction but this list from The Fine Line of eight books by women who reinvented themselves is worth consideration. First up for me is “The New Old Me”.
The Vivienne Files shares a capsule wardrobe template that is very helpful as I head into this clothing plan.
Other than getting over this cold, there are no big plans this week. It will be my first full week in my home office and hopefully I’ll get my phone functioning. Do you have an exciting week coming up?
