Weekly Tales: Spring Edition

It’s officially Spring although many parts of the country are struggling with winter weather this weekend .  Our weather is probably typical for this time of year with some rain and cooler temperatures.

Highlights

This was my first full week working from home and there are two things I need to adjust too.  One is the quiet.  A friend recommended music to give me background noise so I’m trying that out.

My new co-workers.

The second issue is too much sitting.  Apparently walking around the building to discuss business with co-workers gave me more steps than I realized.  My movement (or lack of) has been pathetic and I need to consciously combat that.

It was back to Weight Watchers for me Tuesday night (although my regular meeting day will be Saturdays).  It’s my first time with the Freestyle program and I appreciate the changes.

Here are some of my favorite blog reads the past week.

Fifty Plus Life shares that rising coffee consumption may help in the fight against colon cancer.  Finally, one of my habits is healthy!

Since I’m back on Weight Watchers, I’m looking for healthy recipes and this zero point Taco soup from Slender Kitchen fits the bill.

Solo Traveler asks why do people travel to sad places (memorials, etc.).  I do to remember and/or learn history.  The saddest place I’ve visited is the Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C.

Looking Ahead

Tomorrow I’m flying to New York on business travel.  It’s a nonstop and many of the airlines are offering free meals in coach for transcontinental flights.  I ordered the low calorie/low fat special meal and am interested to see what that brings!

Otherwise, I have no special plans this week.  How was your week?
