Weekly Keto Update #20

KayLynn · January 28, 2019 · Leave a Comment

Last week included business travel for a team meeting and that means wonderful meals together.

I definitely went over my goal of 20 total carbs one night (wine!) but stayed keto the entire time.  It was pouring when we got there but clear the next too days.  It was very cold so I stayed indoors as much as possible!

Progress

I can really see my weight loss in my face!

My weight is up a pound plus thanks to sodium laden food while traveling but it was measurements week and I lost in my waist and neck since 3 weeks ago.  Overall I’ve lost the following since June 25th:

  • Neck: -3 inches
  • Arm: – 1 inch
  • Chest: – 3 inches
  • Waist: – 3 1/4 inches
  • Hips: – 3 3/4 inches
  • Thigh: – 1 inch

New Products

This week I tried chicken crust pizzas by Real Good Food.  The first one, Pepperoni, I really enjoyed (sorry no photo!).  The second one, bacon and egg, was not good.

Food and Recipes

Since I was away half the week, I only made one new recipe.  It was for chicken philly cheese steak casserole from the Diet Doctor website but authored by my favorite cookbook author, Kristie Sullivan.  I will definitely make it again but use less cheese.

I neglected taking photos of most of my meals dining out; was enjoying the company too much!  I did get a photo of my first meal in Tennessee which was pulled pork at the Nashville airport.

I selected keto-friendly options on the buffet for breakfast (sadly no hard boiled eggs, nuts or berries there).

Here is what I ate this week.

Breakfast Lunch Dinner Snacks
Sunday eggs, bacon Real Good Food Pepperoni Pizza Chicken Caesar salad
Monday eggs leftovers: meatloaf, green beans Recipe: Chicken philly cheese steak casserole Adapt bar
Tuesday hard boiled egg leftovers: Chicken philly cheese steak casserole burger patty, salad with blue cheese dressing Adapt bar
Wednesday bacon, cheese, keto bar Dining Out: Pulled pork Dining out: wine, caesar salad with steak, cheese board (cheese and nuts) pumpkin seeds
Thursday Dining Out: eggs ,bacon, sausage Panera: Green goddess cobb salad Dining out: Burger, bacon, green beans Sausage, cheese,  keto bar
Friday Dining Out: eggs, bacon, sausage Dining out: chicken wings, salad with ranch dressing Dining out: Chopped salad with turkey, salami, caesar dressing Cheese stick, keto bar
Saturday eggs, bacon, cheese leftovers: Chicken philly cheese steak casserole Real Good Food pizza (1/2) Keto Bar

Looking Forward

I’m participating in a four day beef and butter fast starting today.  It’s a window into the carnivore diet and a quick way to bust through plateaus (hopefully).  We’ll find out next week.  Until then, keto on!
