Tales From the Scale: Tiny Steps

KayLynn · February 2, 2015 · 2 Comments

Tales from the Scale-tiny-steps

The past three weeks at my Weight Watchers meeting one of the things our leader has asked us do is set one goal to focus on during the week.  I’ve been focusing on tracking what I eat.

It was brought home this week at this meeting when the topic was how the tiny steps add up.  I think this concept is especially useful to people just starting their journey.

There’s a lot to think about:

  1. Tracking food
  2. Exercise
  3. Meeting healthy guidelines
  4. Drinking water

If that’s too much at once, just focus on one change at a time.  I didn’t exercise consistently for much of the first year on Weight Watchers.  Yet , I still lost weight.

Food Plan

Not much to talk about this week.  I stayed focused on my portion control plan (Nutrisystem D) and enjoyed most of the meals. The only cooking done is the proteins (usually eggs) and vegetables to supplement the meals.

doughnut-breakfast

Nutrisystem even has a chocolate covered doughnut.  It was okay, but I like the chocolate muffin much better so I won’t reorder it.  I added egg beaters with spinach for a complete breakfast.

nutrisystem-burger

This hamburger was very good.  I added the lettuce and tomato to this frozen entree.  There is also a shelf-stable hamburger.

We did eat out one evening as I wanted Mexican food.  Nutrisystem has a lot of Italian entrees but I think they need to add Mexican cuisine to their menu.

Weigh-In

With a week on plan it showed on the scale.  I lost 1.4 pounds bringing the total loss to:

-45.6 Pounds

It’s nice to be less than five pounds away from 50 again.

Challenges Ahead

The challenges this week (which started Saturday) included eating out for lunch before a live theatre performance and of course, the big game.  We’ll see if it impacts the next weigh-in.

The rest of the week should be smooth sailing.  How did your week towards great health go?

Nice weight loss this week. I’m about where you are. I’m so close to the 50 pound charm…I may get there this week. Hope you get there soon, too.

Congratulations. You inspire me. I’m tracking, tracking, tracking, but not much to show for it yet.
