Tales From the Scale: Bouncing Back

KayLynn · July 7, 2014 · Leave a Comment

tales-from-the-scale

As delightful as the Weight Watchers meeting in Savannah was it was good to be back at my regular meeting last Saturday.  I was surprised how many people showed up for the 7 am meeting the day after Independence Day.

We talked about bouncing back after sliding off plan which seemed appropriate timing for some.  The bottom line, everyone falls off plan at some point.  The important thing is how you handle the aftermath.  There were a few tips on how to get back on the horse, so to speak.

1. Use the no-weigh pass.  Although we’re given a pass, you don’t have to whip it out.  Just tell the receptionist you’re checking in but won’t be weighing.  It’s more important to hear the meeting and be in the community than get the weight recorded that day.

2. Connect online.  There are lots of forums on the Weight Watchers site or just connect with supportive friends on Facebook, twitter or wherever.

3. Find a meeting.  We used the find a meeting feature to attend a meeting in Savannah.  Next time I’m on vacation, I’m really going to try to make a local meeting versus skipping altogether.

What ideas do you have?

Food Plan

I didn’t track for the three days of Fitbloggin’.  Not because I was ashamed or overeating but due to lack of time!  I did eat more than a normal day at home but didn’t go overboard.  Jumping right back into my normal routine really helped and it showed at the scale.

dinner

This was dinner  Thursday night which was fried potatoes, white fish Vera Cruz and sauteed zucchini.

fit-fare

My favorite breakfast of the week was the fit fare slam at Denny’s.  Instead of English muffin I had half a bowl of oatmeal.

pollo-asado

Lunch Sunday was leftover zucchini and pollo asado with….

zero-point-soup

A bowl of Weight Watchers zero point soup.  I made a batch almost every week and have it for lunch every day.  It’s a tasty way to get in two servings of veggies.

Weigh-In

When I got home from Fitbloggin’ my scale initially showed a gain of five pounds.  I knew that was all water weight from the salty restaurant/hotel food and sure enough it came off throughout the week.

By Saturday morning I was ready for a true reading and was down .4 pounds for a total weight loss of :

-47.6 Pounds

 Challenges Ahead

Today I head off on a business trip to Canada.  I’ll be gone for four meals since I’m packing my own healthy lunch.  That shouldn’t be too big of a challenge; it’s the long trips that are harder for me to choose wisely.

How did your week towards great health go?
