Tales from the Scale: Week 23

The topic this past week at Weight Watchers was vacation renovation.  How do you come home from vacation without regrets?  The consensus was planning is the key.

Whether you want to lose or just maintain  it’s important to plan how to make your goal happen.  This year I’ve been taking healthy, portable snacks with me on my trips which helps keep me from going overboard at meals.

Weigh-In

I was a little concerned about getting a loss this week with all the dining out but my choices were good enough to lose another .6 pound for the third week in a row.  That brings the total loss to:

27.8 Pounds

Weekly Movement

Our exercise routine was off due to our grandson’s visit but we walked 10 miles during our day at Disney.  Add in a second amusement park and one pilates session and we did okay in the exercise department.

Challenges Ahead

It seems like every week this month is out of the norm as I travel again on Thursday to attend Fitbloggin’.  The great thing about attending a fitness blog conference is that there will be plenty of healthy food and exercise sessions.  I’m really looking forward to it!

How do you stay on track during vacations?

I barely remember the last time I weighed in. Kudos to you for being consistent. Hope I get around to losing weight too.

FitBloggin is a great conference with lots of physical – as well as intellectual & emotional – activities planned. I’ve been to all of them so far and I’m so looking forward to it again this year. (And to meeting you – San Diegans Unite!)

For other conferences I’ve attended, I always try to hit the gym for 30-60 minutes as early as I can stand to get up. That way I’ve burned a few hundred calories and don’t necessarily have to say no to dessert. I usually eat breakfast on my own, too, so that I can ensure I’ve got adequate protein and some fruit. (Note that Fitbloggin is a notable exception, as Roni will make sure breakfast is yummy & nutritious.) Finally, I make sure to walk the entire length of whatever Expo area is available at the conference. Not to pick up swag – I don’t take stuff that I don’t need/have room in the suitcase for – but to get in those extra steps. Seems crazy but I nearly always lose a few pounds at a conference because I’m healthier on the road than at home!

Great job on another loss! At least fitbloggin will have a lot of venders offering healthy items…that should be easier than some of the other conferences. 🙂
