Review: Green Giant Veggie Snack Chips #GiantFlavor

KayLynn · August 9, 2013 · Leave a Comment

Chips are a treat for me and when I eat them they need to offer something more than just crunch. That’s why I couldn’t wait to try the new Green Giant Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chip and Green Giant Multigrain Sweet Potato Chip. I was also intrigued that the chips were from a favorite brand I’ve been eating since childhood.

I opened the bag of Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chips in the Garden Ranch flavor first because I’m a chips and salsa gal. Two things I liked about them before even one bite:

  • There are roasted red and green peppers in the chips
  • They have 18 grams of whole grain per serving

I normally eat plain chips so tasting these was a new experience.  There’s no need to add salsa or guacamole because there’s plenty of ranch flavor to satisfy.  But I still added salsa as it’s a tasty way to get in extra vegetables.

The tortilla chips also come in Zesty Cheddar.

The next day I had the Green Giant Multigrain Sweet Potato Chip in Barbecue flavor as part of my lunch.  I love sweet potatoes and usually order it in place of white potatoes at restaurants that offer this option.  Besides the sweet potato factor, the other reason I wanted to try these chips was that they have 40% less fat than regular chips.  That’s a significant savings!

You get a whopping 16 chips in a serving for just 120 calories.  Since that’s just too much food along with my sandwich, I cut the generous serving in half and was still satisfied.

I’m not a barbecue chip fan in general but I definitely liked these better than regular chips in this flavor.  Next time I’ll try the Sea Salt flavor which is more to my taste.

Overall, I enjoyed the Green Giant Veggie Snack Chips and will be adding them to my regular rotation of snacks. Don’t forget to look for the green bags at your local store. Learn more about the Green Giant Veggie Snack Chips HERE and get that coupon to try them yourself!
