Next Vacation: Carnival Glory Cruise

KayLynn · August 14, 2017 · Leave a Comment

As wonderful as the Norwegian Epic trip was, it was definitely not a beach trip.  Sister T and I decided to scratch that itch with a seven day Carnival Glory sailing that stops at three of our favorite beach ports plus a day in the beautiful city of San Juan.

We’re leaving the hubbies at home and flying to South Florida a couple of days early.  The only bad thing about this sailing is that it leaves on Saturday which means either take a day off just to fly or red-eye.  I chose the red-eye Thursday night and will work from the hotel on Friday (it’s an early off day due to Labor Day holiday).

Itinerary

This will be my fifth stop at Half Moon Cay and I can’t wait!  It’s my favorite beach anywhere although Grand Turk is a close second.

For our St. Thomas stop, we plan to visit Coki Beach again and Sister T is bringing dog biscuits for the fish.  This time in San Juan we plan to take a tour of the Bacardi Rum Factory before enjoying lunch at a Puerto Rican restaurant.

The Ship

Neither of us have sailed on the Carnival Glory but there are a couple of things it has that I haven’t experienced on my previous nine Carnival cruises.

Seafood Shack: I know this is a pay spot but the prices seem reasonable and I got to try the lobster rolls at least once!

BBQ: The old fish and chips spot was replaced with a BBQ and I plan to try it on embarkation day.

Between these two spots and my other favorites (Guy’s Burgers and Blue Iguana Cantina) I won’t have to eat lunch at the subpar Carnival buffet.  In fact, I may have a hard time fitting in a BLT from room service!

Bonus

In addition to getting to spend time with one of my awesome sisters, I am changing status to Platinum this trip and a nice thing Carnival does is give passengers that perk the entire trip.  Our boarding passes show the upgrade with me being listed as Platinum and our tags are Priority.

I can’t wait to experience the benefits of this new level including priority boarding, tendering and disembarkation, gift, complimentary laundry, chocolate covered strawberries and more!

We’re both looking forward to our beach getaway.  What’s your next vacation?
