I slept in a bit on this sea day and was up about 6:45.
Met my brother in the lido buffet and he had breakfast while I had morning coffee.
Sea Day Activities
I decided to have breakfast in the main dining room at 8 am and had a nice table in the aft section.
I started with the fruit plate.
This was followed by eggs benedict.
It was good but could have used more hollandaise sauce. I then had Kristen Kish’s bread pudding.
The bread pudding was a huge serving; I could only eat half and it was very sweet.
After breakfast I attended the coffee chat with staff captain Hughes and the cruise director. It was very interesting to hear about the work and life of this ship’s officer.
Afterwards I visited the future cruise consultant desk and booked a cruise for next year. I noticed my brother had been there right before me.
My husband and I are going to go on the 35 night Voyage of the Vikings. I was able to add $200 to our $100 future cruise deposits we already had and will get bonus OBC for booking onboard. I’ll transfer it to a TA once home.
Then I visited the casino and gave a donation. I have to remember tomorrow to cash out or I’ll be leaving money on my card.
For the rest of the morning I read until lunch when I met up with brother E in the lido marketplace. I had the macaroni and cheese (no pictures but very delicious) along with lemon roasted chicken. I tried the pork burrito but it was very dry and nothing was in it except carnitas.
Dessert was a chocolate waffle cone again. I spent the afternoon reading and finished the book, The Sanatorium. It was okay but I wouldn’t want to read the next one in the series.
I went to return it in the crow’s nest library and saw some whales from up there. My brother got a great video of one leaping out of the water.
Sea Day Evening
Got ready for our second gala night and headed to the ocean bar to take advantage of my brother’s mariner drink coupon.
He met me at dinner time to go together to the dining room. We ordered the same things tonight.
Our first starter was the fried brie.
This was followed by shrimp cocktail.
Then we had the beef tenderloin with shrimp.
I did ask for a baked potato when I realize there was no starch in the dish. For dessert we both had the flourless chocolate cake and he also had the almond cake.
I went by the photo gallery to buy our embarkation photo but they are closed this evening. Everyone is out shooting gala photos.
At guest services I got tip envelopes to use with extra gratuity tomorrow. Then after filling up my soda cup at the freestyle machine I went back to the room to watch TV, and read. It’s another dance show tonight!
