Grandeur, November 25, 2005 – St. Maarten 2

KayLynn · November 25, 2005 · Leave a Comment

We woke up to a beautiful day in St. Maarten.  This was our first time staying overnight in a port. The movie today is “Hitch”.

dockOther ships in port today are Ocean Village and Adventure of the Seas.

After breakfast in the Windjammer we headed  to Philipsburg with Mom for some shopping.  The rest of the family is going to Orient Beach.

Mom has been looking for a ring and found one.  It has blue and white diamonds in a channel setting.  We continued shopping while they resized it.

Mom bought some really cute wine tuxedos/dresses to put on gifts of wine (3 for $10).  She also bought a crocheted table cloth.  It is a 72 x 90 size and cost $40.  I bought a bottle of guavaberry liquer for $13.50 and a polo shirt with pocket for Steve.

I found an internet cafe and checked messages before returning to the ship on the water taxi ($5 for all day pass). We had lunch in the windjammer with mom and then took a nap.

Steve and I headed over to the beach before realizing we forgot sunscreen and Steve’s hat.  He’s pretty sunburned from yesterday so can’t risk more sun without protection.

So we returned to the ship and just stayed there.  Mom and I went to the solarium and enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi.

Steve and I were the only ones that made it to the dining room tonight at our table.

  • Appetizers: Shrimp Cocktail, spinach feta pie, split pea soup, Cesar salad
  • Entrees: Steak Diane (both of us)
  • Dessert: Kahlua creme brulee (both of us)

After dinner we went to the Viking Crown Lounge for the drink of the day (margarita).  We shipped the show as we’ve seen the comedian before (Yakov Smirnoff).

Sailaway was at 10 pm and curiously we had our first towel animal tonight.
