Five Things Friday

KayLynn · April 24, 2015 · Leave a Comment

empty_nest

Today is the day we empty-nesters lose that distinction for a few months.  My youngest son is moving back from Florida and staying with us a few months while looking for a place and building a nest egg. He is a firefighter and has a new job so no worries there.

We just have to lose some of the bad habits you get when you’re the only ones in the house.  Enough said. Okay grab that coffee and let’s chat!

Tales from The Scale

The main reason I started this blog was to motivate me to improve my health.  A big part of that is weight loss and I haven’t reported on that for a couple of weeks.

There wasn’t much to report for a couple of weeks as I celebrated my birthday (for a full weekend) and had to spend a couple of weeks taking that off.  Tales from the Scale will be back Monday with a progress report and some good news!

FitBit

great-barrier-reef-badge

I earned a new FitBit badge this pas week which hasn’t happened for a while.  This one is the Great Barrier Reef badge and represents 1,600 miles I’ve logged so far.

It’s making me wish I was more consistent wearing it; who knows what badges I could have earned. 🙂  Now that I have the charge I wear it daily because it’s my watch as well.

Weather

I haven’t mentioned the weather in a while due to guilt.  We had a wonderful winter in terms of warm and sunny days (not in terms of rain).  Typically February and March are our rainy months and it was pretty dry around here.

It rained!  Yep, last night the light rain started and it’s been off and on today.  It’s not going to help much and I think we’re in for big changes in terms of water conservation in California.

Lip Sync Battle

Have you seen the new show “Lip Sync Battle”?  It’s fun to see stars lip syncing to the hits.  My favorite so far has been The Rock – Dwayne Johnson.  (Click through to see the video).  I have never watched the Spike channel before this but it’s a fun show.

That’s it for this week’s edition.  I know it’s just four but I have to get to the office.  Have a great weekend!
