Five Things Friday

KayLynn · February 20, 2015 · Leave a Comment

The past week was eventful in very unexpected ways.  Grab a cup of coffee and let’s dive right in!

Job Changes

change

I didn’t think anything of it when I posted about Friday the 13th last week.  Let me tell you it turned out to be a significant day.  I had a medical appointment first thing and thought it was strange when I received a text to meet one of the VPs as soon as I got in.

When I walked into the office I was guided into a meeting in progress where the owner of the company announced he was selling the business.  It was all a blur after that with two more meetings and then a lot of digesting.

To be honest, I couldn’t process it all Friday but did so over the weekend.  I think it’s an exciting opportunity for the company and our clients but there will be a lot of change coming up.

Minor Surgery

oral-surgery

The medical appointment was with an oral surgeon about a bony growth in my mouth called a torus platinus.  It’s grown over the past 30 years to the point that food gets caught and eating sharp foods like chips (not that I do that often) scratch it.

Since it’s bone my medical plan will cover the removal BUT the plan now changes when my company changes ownership.  So, the process that started this summer (it took 5 months to get into the otolaryngologist for a referral) will be done the first week of March.

I’ll be out of work for about a week and can’t travel for two weeks.  What this urgent scheduling means is that I won’t be able to attend the inaugural BAM conference.  Boo hoo!

Parks and Recreation Finale

One of my favorite shows, Parks and Recreation, will be airing the series finale next week.  I’ll miss the laughs with these Pawnee, Indiana residents but appreciate the seven seasons of great television!

This would be a good series to binge watch if you have not seen it.

Knee Pain

I woke up with mystery right knee pain Monday morning.  I call it that because I don’t recall any activity or movement that caused it.  My Kaia Fit instructor has given me modifications so I’m still able to workout without aggravating it but going up and down stairs is not fun!

I injured this knee in my teens skiing and it’s the one that gives me trouble periodically.  I’ve started a regime of ibuprofen and no extra walking and hope that will knock it out soon.

PrAna Event

Last weekend’s plan to attend the San Diego Travel Show was ditched so I’m determined to make tomorrow’s PrAna event to celebrate the future opening of prAna Encinitas.  After a yoga class, we’ll have snacks and there will be goodie bags!

That’s my week.  I’m hoping for a quieter one coming up.  What do you have planned this weekend?
