Event Recap: Noodles & Company Blogger Tasting

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending a tasting event at Noodles & Company in Carlsbad, CA.  Since it was only my second time dining at one of the chain locations, I was looking forward to learning (and tasting) more.

Noodles & Company has been in business for nearly 20 years with the concept of serving fresh food fast.  One of the things i learned at the event was that they don’t have a freezer; everything is fresh.

Each dish is carefully hand made to the customer’s specifications.  It’s individually sautéed or prepared, placed on our signature stoneware and served tableside with stainless steel flatware.

I really liked fast casual dining with REAL dishes!

A group of three tables were set up for the nine bloggers that attended including a giveaway and the menu for our reference.  Three of us were gluten-free so we sat together and perused the handout on special dietary needs.  Denise from Do You Have That in My Size gamely joined us for the evening.

Our table started the event with the Chinese Chopped salad without wonton strips.  The other tables enjoyed a trio starting with cheesy garlic bread with marinara sauce, rustic hummus with vegetables and margherita flatbread.

I can safely say everyone enjoyed the start to our meal.

Next came plates of pasta with four different combinations.  You can order any of the dishes with the gluten-free rotini or rice noodles.

pad-thai-pesto

These chicken pad thai and pesto dishes were my favorite!  Our table ate until our stomachs (or blood sugar) couldn’t take anymore!  It was very delicious.

Dessert was served to the people that didn’t have dietary restrictions and they all indicated it was good.  I think it was a trio that included carrot cake, tres leches cake and chocolate expresso cake.

We were all gifted a departing gift of a Noodles & Company reusable water bottle with chap stick and two coupons good for a free meal.  I’ll be using mine soon to treat my husband to dinner out.

Have you ever been to a Noodles & Company location?

Yes, there is one nearby. I found that ordering a small pasta was much better calorie wise and was plenty of food. I think I had the Indonesian Peanut Saute. I liked it a lot and will go back.

Kitty, I agree that the small pasta is the best way to go. I like to pair it with a side salad.
