Blogging it Off with Team Digest Diet

KayLynn · September 8, 2012 · 3 Comments

Four years ago I lost 45 pounds.   I wish the next line was “and I kept it off”.  Only, I didn’t.  Every pound came back.  I’m at the same number and haven’t been able to make progress the last couple of years.  My doctor virtually begs me every time I see her to please lose weight. It’s time to try something new.

That’s why Reader’s Digest caught my interest at BlogHer last month.  Editor in Chief Liz Vaccariello was there promoting her upcoming book The Digest Diet and they were looking for bloggers to join Team Digest Diet.  I knew about Liz’s previous bestseller Flat Belly Diet! and am thrilled to be part of the team.

The Digest Diet

I’ve been the reading The Digest Diet the last week in preparation for my start in a few days.  I haven’t read it all yet but it’s very inspiring, makes sense and how could you not like a plan that requires laughing?

In just three weeks, yes 21 days, people have dropped up to 26 pounds by eating food designed to release fat and stop cravings in three phases.  There are lots of resources at the Reader’s Digest website including shopping lists, videos and more.

The foods listed are many that I only eat… without all the other junk in my diet. And it includes chocolate and wine; two of my favorite treats!

Blogging it Off

A team of bloggers will be blogging it off and sharing our progress, thoughts and experiences on our blog and at the Digest Diet Facebook page.  We’ll be posting at least twice a week so be sure to follow the twitter hash tag #DigestDiet.

This is a big leap for me to do something so public (and yes there will be pictures).  I’m very motivated to lose weight and figured peer pressure can only help and it’s time to SHAKE THINGS UP!

Most of the team is starting to follow the plan on Monday, September 10th.  I’m on a business trip so will be starting three days later on Thursday.  But don’t worry, I’ll post my before picture  from the oh so not flattering side angle so we have something to compare it to at the end.

Disclosure: I was provided the book for use as part of Team Digest Diet.  All opinions expressed are 100% mine.
