A Thanksgiving Day 5K

KayLynn · November 30, 2013 · 3 Comments

5k_start

This was the scene for us Thanksgiving morning with a 5K kicking off at 7:30 am.  Fortunately, the rain that had been predicted earlier in the month was delayed a day.

My husband and I were excited to start the extended weekend off with some exercise and togetherness before I headed off to Florida.

We received the tech shirt I’m wearing in the photo above and a medal.

Notice it says “Challenge Hill” on the medal?  Well, that hill was steep but no problem for us thanks to living in a very hilly neighborhood.

One thing I was thankful for was the difference in my physical condition in just one year.  Last year, I wouldn’t have been able to do the walk let alone the hill.

I’m not to the end of my fitness journey, but I’m well on my way.

I had that same thought, Kay Lynn – I nearly died trying to get up that hill last year (and the year before), but I sailed right up the thing this year. What a difference a year makes!

    See you on Saturday?

That’s great. I’m glad we can look back and see progress even when we’re not at the end goal…yet! Yes I’ll see you Saturday. Have a great rest of the week!
