Weekly Tales: Winter Cold

KayLynn · February 24, 2018 · Leave a Comment

Winter weather for San Diego has finally arrived and we’ve had daily highs in the 50s and 60s.  I wish it would bring a good rainstorm or two.  There’s still time but only one big rain so far this year.

Highlights

Of course it was cold in Wisconsin where I traveled for work early in the week.

The wintry view from my hotel room.

In addition to the great meetings, I enjoyed spending time with coworkers and getting to know them better.  We also tried cheese curds…

and loved them!  Of course, they were even better with a good cocktail.

A not so good event was a power outage last night that lasted until 4:30 or so this morning.  We just went to bed early since we couldn’t catch up on the Olympics or read.

The utility company worked all night (we could tell by the flashing lights in our window) and got it fixed, but we did clean out our fridge of foods we didn’t want to take a chance on them having grown bacteria.

My hair is about 30% gray (according to my hair stylist) and it is starting to bother me towards the end of my six weeks between color appointments.  That’s why 7 Easy Ways to Cover Gray between Salon Visits from The Fine Line is on this week’s list of favorites.

Adventures of Empty Nesters shares What to See in  Thailand where I’m planning a bucket list trip for next year.  Great photos!

My Instant Pot hasn’t been used since last year but this recipe for Chicken Enchilada Soup from LaLoosh might be enough to get it out.

Royal Caribbean Blog included my submission of a Harmony of the Seas pic in this week’s Friday Photos.  If you like cruising this is a blog (and podcast) for you.

Looking Ahead

My department is having a 3 day meeting in the San Diego office this week and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone. We’re spread across the country and gather in person just a few times a year.

It’s also the week my book clubs meet so that will take care of the end of the week.  What were the highlights from your week?
