Welcome to 2019! The new year has definitely had its ups and downs for me already. I shared the loss of Buster, our oldest fur baby yesterday. What I didn’t talk about was our youngest grandbaby’s health.
Baby E (born in October) has spent the past week plus in the hospital getting intravenous antibiotics for an infection. She’s doing better and getting discharged this weekend. There is still an issue needing specialist evaluation in a couple of weeks. Prayers and good thoughts are welcome!
Highlights
Thankfully we had some good things this past week. Sunday my husband let me pick the movie and we saw Mary Poppins Returns. If you loved the original you’ll like this one but it is a bit formulaic and there’s a scene with Meryl Streep that didn’t add anything to the story and should have been left on the cutting floor.
New Year’s Eve we dined at a local restaurant for the occasion. We enjoyed our meal and got home in time to watch the festivities in New York. Can’t imagine standing outside in the rain!
The last highlight of the week was my first Thursday of the month book club meeting. We had a slightly larger group than normal and it was a fun discussion and evening.
