Weekly Tales: New Orleans Edition

KayLynn · November 11, 2018 · Leave a Comment

The conference in New Orleans was a big hit with great content, organization and good times in the city each evening.  I dined out with customers three nights and enjoyed every meal.  You’d have to work at getting a bad meal in NOLA.

The hotel, Westin, was right by the river and the train tracks and although I had this great view….

It was very noisy during the night between trains blowing their whistle through town and the fog horns of passing marine traffic.  Despite not getting enough sleep the entire stay, I did go with a few folks early one morning to Cafe Du Monde.

Music-lovers will also enjoy this city where it seemed every bar had a great band; just find one that fits your musical tastes and enjoy!  Above is a picture of a couple of co-workers trying on masks.  I bought this at a NOLA gift shop.

I think it appealed to me after so many sleepless nights!

Favorite Reads

I didn’t get much blog reading done this week but here are a few favorites I did get to.

Mama Fish Saves shares the four gift rule for parents this holiday season.  I think this is how it traditionally was done when I was growing up.  One of my favorite childhood Christmas gifts was a stack of Bobby Twins books.

Although I think I did a great job at it this week, FlyerTalk has tips on how to make the most out of a work trip.

Hip2Keto gives us a recipe for Christmas crack pecan toffee.  Whether the recipient is intentionally low carb or not, this makes a wonderful, tasty gift.

Looking Ahead

This week I’ll be traveling to a colder locale in the Dakotas.  I will have to dig out a coat for the first time this season as we fit in last trips before Thanksgiving week.

How was your week?
