Weekly Tales: Family Reunion Edition

Summer time means family reunions and today I’m going to one in Kansas that I haven’t been to in a dozen years. The picture above is from 8 or 9 years ago; this year will be at the same place.

I’m looking forward to seeing relatives I haven’t seen in a while and spending time with both my sisters.

Highlights

It was a busy and fun week.  I got out of the house for one reason or another every day plus there was Amazon Prime Day.

Thursday night I had dinner and a movie with a new to me meetup group.  Dinner was at a greek restaurant so I had greek salad with one chicken kebab.  Then we saw Mamma Mia! Here We go Again.

Loved it!

I also had lunch out with a couple of coworker friends yesterday and enjoyed catching up.

On the food front, I had a good keto week.  I made a mexican skillet recipe from Casey Trenum that was very good but forgot to take pictures. 🙁 I did take a picture of the kedough pizza recipe I used from Cooking Keto with Kristie. Best keto pizza I’ve made yet.

Other meals included steak and pork chops.  Also enjoyed some meals I had frozen from previous recipes including sausage gravy and chili cheese muffins.

Here are a few of my favorite reads this week.

She Picks up Pennies asks if you live in a home or a storage unit.  I definitely need to work on decluttering so my closests don’t look like storage.

Read the advice from The Points Guy so you don’t make the 11 mistakes every tourist makes in New Orleans.

Fifty Plus Life shares the good news that coffee may boost longevity.  Let me have another sip of my java contemplating it.

Stop picking on Dave Ramsey from Chief Mom Officer discusses how the debt snowball is the better solution for most.  I agree; it worked for me years ago.

Ditch the Carbs has my favorite recipe post of the week with Keto sheet plan steak fajitas. Can’t wait to make this!

Looking Ahead

This week I’ve relocated my home office to my son’s home so I can spend time with him and his family before he deploys courtesy of the military.  I’m looking forward to just enjoying time with them all.
