It was great to have a full week sleeping in my bed and having more control over food choices (yes I am a control freak). It paid off too!
Progress
The scale moved down a pound this week for a total loss of -25.2 pounds.
It’s a nice milestone to have before heading out on a full work week of travel and dining out. Last Sunday was measurement day and I lost a 1/4′ on each arm, and inch off my hips and 1/4″ more off my neck.
I decided not to measure ketones for a while because I was getting low readings yet doing everything right. Dr. Westman says “keep it simple” and I need to do that for now and just pay attention to what I eat and trust results will happen.
New Products
Getting enough fat is harder when traveling. Some restaurants don’t stock real butter to add to my food. I decided to try coffee shots from Adapt to take with me.
The hazelnut flavoring was not as strong as I preferred, but otherwise this is a winner. Here’s the nutritional information.
This and nut butters will do the job of ensuring I have nutritional fat. You can buy these at the Adapt Your Life website.
Recipes
I made two new to me recipes this week with a fall theme.
This is my rendition of the Keto Harvest Pumpkin and Sausage soup recipe on Diet Doctor and created by my favorite cookbook author, Kristie Sullivan. It’s a keeper!
With the extra pumpkin puree, I decided to to try a pumpkin dessert. I made the low carb mini pumpkin pie from My Life Cookbook which takes just one minute in the microwave to cook. It tasted just like pumpkin pie filling. Next time I’ll use smaller ramekins.
It would be perfect with some whipped cream on top.
Food Log and Pictures
I used the second cauliflower pizza crust in the Outer Aisles package to make a breakfast wrap Sunday morning.
It was good although I’ll stuff more into it next time. I only made 1 egg because I thought two would be too much. Thursday night was book club at a local chain restaurant, Karl Strauss. I had a bunless cheeseburger with avocado and the best caesar salad I’ve had in a while.
It was a $2 upcharge to get the salad instead of fries and well worth it!
After getting my hair cut Saturday, I was so close to Chipotle and it was noon so I drove over for a carnitas salad with guacamole. This time I got fajita veggies and cheese in addition to the meat and lettuce.
For dinner Saturday night I had defrosted the last serving of keto swedish meatballs.
Here is this week’s food log.

Looking Forward
If I have to be away from home on business travel, I can’t think of a better city than New Orleans. I’m looking forward to the conference as well as the dining and entertainment this city offers. I think it will be an easy keto travel week.
Let the good times roll!
