Weekly Chronicles: Father’s Day Edition

KayLynn · June 16, 2013 · 4 Comments

happyfathersday

Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there!  My husband will be enjoying his Father’s Day because our 4 year old grandson arrived last night and he hadn’t seen him in person for 20 months.

We’ll be taking him to Legoland today and have a day at Disneyland planned later in the week.  Enjoying time with loved ones is what life is all about.

On another note, my stepson is back in the states and recovering well from his war injury.  It looks like he won’t need surgery after all.  We’re also grateful to have another Father’s Day with my father-in-law.

Around the Web

If you have time for reading this week, here are some of my favorite articles.

The Veracious Vegan has a great looking recipe for Shepherd’s Pie that I can’t wait to try.  It’ll have to wait until Alex leaves becaue he’s a picky eater just like his dad at that age.

If you’re not a fan of  hummus, give this dessert hummus a try (click through and see the photo).  This recipe from Carrie on Vegan is on my to do list.

Family Balance Sheet has seven tips for a successful yard sale.

For inspiration in your weight loss journey (or heck just in general) check out Janette’s story of losing over 250 pounds at Slim Shoppin’.  Awesome!

Family Fitness Food shared the seven rules for life that would be great for all us.

Ever think about giving up TV?  Learn how Square Pennies easily saved $70 a month.

That wraps up this edition of Weekly Chronicles.  We’re off to Legoland and hope you have a wonderful Father’s Day whatever you do.
