Weekly Chronicles: Celebration Edition

KayLynn · August 4, 2013 · 5 Comments

Celebration

Thursday was my husband’s birthday and we celebrated with a nice dinner out.  It was also an opportunity for us to catch up since I’d been traveling for a week and just returned the night before. The bad part was I used the event for an excuse to continue down the path of bad choices and ate way too much!  You’ll hear more about this tomorrow.

Other than menu selection regrets, we had a wonderful evening.  It’s fun to travel but it’s always better to come home!

Around the Web

Here are a few of my favorite blog articles this week.

You might remember my recipe for a stuffed pepper with egg. This egg in a pepper ring recipe from Slim Shopping seems easier and a nice change of pace.

Jezebel highlights the amount of weight loss advice out there (a lot of it crazy or conflicting) with How to Lose All the Weight You Want in 89 Steps.

The Cheesy Spinach and Mushroom Quiche recipe from LaLoosh looks easy, delicious and low calorie!

Simple Nourished Living shares three ways to make recipes Weight Watchers friendly.

It was National Lasagna day last week and I found two lighter lasagna recipes to try.  Emily Bites shares a recipe for Mexican Lasagna roll-ups while Peace + Love + Low Carb has one for Lasagna Stuffed Peppers.  I’d like to give both a try.

Generation Fabulous shares how midlife women rocked BlogHer 13.  You’ll hear more about the conference in later posts from me as well.

Blog Giveaways

Don’t miss out on the Nature Made VitaMelts Swag Bag giveaway I’m running.  Entries close at midnight Tuesday.

Two Savvy Sisters is hosting a $10 Amazon gift card giveaway through the month of August.  We’re also hosting another VitaMelts prize pack giveaway starting today.

Enter to win a FUL backpack at Little House in the Valley by August 8th.

Metamor Fit is giving away two outdoor skin kits.  Entries close Monday.

Enter to win a $100 cash at Eyes on the Dollar.  Congratulations on one year of blogging!

Mindy’sFitness Journal is hosting a giveaway for a MostFit Suspension Strap. Entries close August 8th.

Asthma-sufferers will be interested in the Health-Ox Pulse Oximeter giveaway at Live from La Quinta.  Enter by August 7th.

Surviving and Thriving is hosting a giveaway for Clark Howard’s lastest book “Clark Howard’s Living Large for the Long Haul“. Entries close August 6th.

That’s all for this week’s edition.  I hope August is off to a great start for you!

Great round-up of blog articles. The one on Jezebel was hilarious and I thought the egg in a pepper ring very clever! Thanks for including my post about making recipes Weight Watchers Friendly. I appreciate it!
