Today the Zuiderdam starts our two day visit to Reykjavik. There are too many ships there these two days for all to dock. The port authorities decided we would tender. There would be a free shuttle to the Harpa Concert Hall area.
Not Reykjavik Morning
We were up early and by the time I got to the crow’s nest had just 15 minutes to wait for the coffee bar to open. I was planning to go on the Golden Circle tour today but was tired and sniffling and couldn’t face being on a tour for 9 or more hours (8 hour tour plus tendering).
There will be very few photos today.
We had breakfast in the dining room. I started with berries.
They seem to be short on strawberries but liked it all except gave raspberries to Steve. I was excited to see chicken burritos were today’s special.
I ordered two which were delicious!
Ignored the overly crispy bacon, LOL. Steve had french toast and it was much better than the last time when he had too thin of slices.
We went back to cabin and rested.
Afternoon and Evening
For lunch we ordered room service. I had chicken noodle soup and grilled cheese sandwich.
Perfect for a day like today! They use spaghetti for the noodles; doesn’t have that same satisfaction as egg noodles. Below you can see the entire room service menu by clicking on the image.
We had dinner in the buffet where I first got the too rare tri-tip.
I did get a chicken salad sandwich. The cabbage and bacon soup was good.
Dessert was a slice of coconut cream pie. They were out by the time Steve went to get his dessert. Below is tonight’s main dining room menu. Click the image for the full menu.
Laundry came in the evening. We watched a movie before bed. Below is today’s daily program. Click the image for the full PDF.
The new (and last of the trip) entertainment schedule started today. Click the image for the full PDF.
