Tales from the Scale: Weeks 24-25

There were two weeks between weigh-in due to being in Portland last weekend for Fitbloggin‘. I know one person who did go to a Portland Weight Watchers meeting but I didn’t want to miss any of the conference plus travel is not kind to my weight.  Even though it’s just water due to restaurant overuse of salt it brings me down to see it.

The topic at this week’s meeting the ripple effect.  It was about how small changes can lead to big results.  One of those I made was focusing on having a fruit or vegetable with every snack or meal.  For another person it was parking at the far end of the parking lot to get in more steps.

What small change has helped you with weight loss?

Weigh-In

Keeping with my steady slow loss, the scale was down a pound this week bringing the total weight loss to:

28.8 Pounds

I want to get to 30 pounds before leaving for Chicago at the end of the month so will have to work hard starting today on that goal.  (The weekend was not so good!)

Weekly Movement

At Fitbloggin’ I did very well with the exercise which will be discussed in detail in a later post.  Above, I’m testing out the trampoline before the Jumpsport class (I did take off my badge before we started.)

This last week we walked three times and I attended two pilates classes but we didn’t do a long walk.  I was still tired from all the activity and lack of sleep the weekend before.  It’s important to listen to your body and take a rest when needed and I do finally feel good now.

Challenges Ahead

Sunday was an off day where it wasn’t running around doing errands and exercising.  Today’s we’re back on plan and I’ll be making a Trader Joe’s run for fresh vegetables.  My husband picked up fruit yesterday.

I did not make a meal plan but will sketch one out today.  How did your week towards great health go?

So true about listening to your body! I wanted to do more classes at FitBloggin’ but my sore knees said “No!”. You are doing great with your 28.8 pound loss!! I’m with you on the travel, I always bloat out a few pounds and it’s gone in a week.

Hi Beeb, I’ve loved all your recaps (sorry I haven’t commented :(). Hopefully next time you’ll be able to take part in whichever classes you want.

Khaleef, the jumpsport class was a lot of fun; but very tough. I’ll be writing more about it soon.
