Tales from the Scale: Week 5

Saturday’s meeting was about portion control.  We learned about the advantage of weighing food in grams versus ounces.  One member weighed two different brands of almonds and the number was 23 with one brand and 31 with the second.  It really showed the importance of checking the amounts when you try new brands.

It was another great week.  I lost 2.0 even for a grand total of….

Total Loss: 9.8 Pounds

I’m so close to that 10 pound sticker and hope to see it this weekend!

Victories and Challenges:  Despite the blow-out Valentine’s Day meal, I didn’t eat all my weekly points.  That’s because I hoarded them all week until Thursday to ensure there were enough.  I also decided to eat seafood over beef to keep it lower point.

Tracking and Healthy Checks: It was weird not tracking food for three days during the juice cleanse; I was worried about getting out of the habit, but I’ve been doing fine so far the past two days.

The bad news is that I’m not improving on getting my pourable healthy oil in each day.  I’m going to put that goal on the backburner until I’m up to normal with activity.

Next week: I want to continue increasing activity this week by upping the daily steps goal to 5,500.  That probably seems low to most of you but my daily average was 3,200 when I started tracking a couple of weeks ago.

What’s your victory and challenge this week?

Thanks! I’m really hoping to get past 10 lbs off this weekend.
