How do you start off your day? June’s monthly focus at Weight Watchers is about starting it off with a good breakfast. I learned the importance of breakfast in the Navy when I worked in the operating room.
If surgery was scheduled to end at mid-day, they often wouldn’t schedule lunch breaks for the techs who were scrubbed in. Of course delays would happen and sometimes it’d be 1 or 2 pm before I’d get lunch and we started the day at 6 am.
Most of the people in the meeting found protein in the morning helps them feel sated and satisfied for many hours. I agree!
Weigh-In
I was concerned about my weigh-in due to air travel the afternoon before and three days of restaurant food. Not that I made unhealthy choices but due to water retention. My plan to drink lots of water helped because I lost .6 pounds. That brings the total loss to:
26.6 Pounds
Weekly Movement
Due to the business trip I only attended one pilates class this week and that was because I switched to a different day and time. I found the lunchtime class fully booked and wouldn’t want to regularly attend at that time.
I also was able to fit in an hour of treadmill time during the trip. The hotel had the best fitness room I’ve seen in a hotel. I loved the individual TV and ability to connect the treadmill to my smartphone. Over the week, I earned 34 activity points which is a new all-time personal record.
Challenges Ahead
We are getting ready for a week with our grandson starting Saturday so we’ll have to make smart food choices and keep on track with exercise. No matter what, I’ll start my morning with breakfast each day.

Congrats on the additional weight loss. For the last 2-3 years, I would have a bowl of hot cereal. About month ago, I switched to a fruit smoothie. Warm weather and just wanted a chance was my motivation.

That’s a great idea for change this summer. Do you put spinach or other greens in it?
