Tales from the Scale: Week 18

The theme at last week’s meeting was about enhancing mealtimes by focusing on the spaces we eat our meals.  It’s interesting that our surroundings can impact what we eat and how much.  Ideas to make meals more relaxing (which in turn can help you slow down and eat less) included:

  • Setting the table with placemats, tablecloths, candles
  • Dimming the lights
  • Playing relaxing music
  • Plating takeout (don’t eat from boxes)
  • Style your food – add herbs, make a colorful plate

Do you do any of these?  We’ve been plating our takeout for a while and it makes a difference in the experience.  What I need to work on is using the table and shutting off the TV during mealtimes.

Weigh-In

I ate a lot more of my weekly points bank this week and all my activity points so I was worried it would impact my weight loss.  No need  as I lost another pound (even) which brings the total loss to:

24.8 Pounds

I’m so close to that 25 pound mark.  Hopefully that will happen this week.

Weekly Movement

With the extra walking last week my activity point level increased one point to make 30 even.  Of course as you lose weight, it takes more time to earn a point.

the official 16 week training program for the Avon Walk started yesterday which had different days for cross training than my current pilates classes.  So I needed to say goodbye (at least for now) to Heidi and reformer level 1.  Wednesday I will take my first reformer level 2 class and its a bit scary.

Challenges Ahead

Tonight I’m taking a cooking class where we get to eat the finished product but since it’s a vegan cooking class I think the dishes will be reasonable in calories and fat. I’m heading out Friday morning for a weekend blogging conference.  The focus is vegan blogging, but there will be a lot of opportunities to have foods I’ve never tried and I will have to work to ensure I don’t overdo.

How did your week towards great health go?
