Tales From the Scale: Week 14

I made it to my regular Weight Watchers meeting for the first time in three weeks and one of my friends from work joined me.  This week’s topic was about making your home activity friendly.  There were some great ideas on how to build exercise opportunities into your living spaces.

My favorite was to do lunges, wall push ups and other exercises while waiting for coffee to brew or water to boil in the kitchen.

Weigh-In

Remember last week I was just .2 pounds away from 20 pounds.  Well, I smashed through that mark with a 1.2 pounds loss.  I received a 10% award which is a keyring that I’ll save to put other awards on and of course another 5 pound sticker.

The updated total loss is:

21.0 Pounds

Weekly Movement

timecrunchtraining

My son and his girlfriend were in town from Miami last week and she joined me for pilates class Thursday which was a fun treat.  I also made it to the Tuesday class and walked three times although once was with the dog so it was slower and for only 25 minutes.

Our longest walk was for 55 minutes so we’re getting close to the hour mark.

I bought the Weight Watchers 10-minute Time Crunch Training product shown above and did the upper body workout Saturday.  Level one was just enough challenge.  With five routines that you can combine in any order and three levels, it’ll keep me busy for a while!

Challenges Ahead

Last week’s challenge was that I never did prepare that meal plan resulting in a lot of dining out and frozen meals.  Although I don’t have that to deal with or traveling I’m starting to feel good about my weight loss and fitness improvement.  The challenge will be to keep working hard and not let success go to my head.

There’s a lot of work still to do.  How did your week towards great health go?

Great job, especially since you hadn’t been to a meeting in a few weeks.

You’re also doing great with exercise. That’s something I need to improve on.

I don’t think I would have the progress I have without that exercise. I really love the feel of new muscles.

Great Job Kay! I have been doing good with either hiking or taking the dog for a walk in the evenings. Would like to find the time to go to the gym on a regular basis.

Yes, great job on making over 20! It’s hard as hell. I am finally there since mid-December, but a lot of it was that I had to stop eating anything and everything with gluten in it. It’s amazing how much weight you lose that way! I walk every single day, not only is it good for weight loss, but it’s good for your spirit. Now Iwill sign off before I start to sound more like a self-help book, but congrats again!

Gigi, congratulations on finding what works for you. I have found removing animal products a big help and don’t miss them… much. 😉

Great job! I’m trying to workout more and it’s easier now that the weather is nicer. It’s hard to get going after a long winter, but I think in a few weeks I’ll be able to workout 3-4 times per week.

Joe, you’ll feel so much better once you get the habit built.
