Tales From the Scale: Love Your Exercise

KayLynn · February 9, 2015 · Leave a Comment

The topic at Saturday’s Weight Watchers meeting was near and dear to my heart. It was about finding the right fitness activities for you and loving your exercise plan.  Ideas to turn exercise-haters into someone who enjoys it included:

  1. Workout to music.
  2. Start small.  Take the steps, park further away from the door, walk 10 minutes.
  3. Exercise with a friend or in group fitness.
  4. Treat it like a meeting.  Put it on the calendar and don’t miss it.
  5. Break it up into smaller chunks of time.
  6. Mix it up.
  7. Set a goal.  Whether it’s a race or a challenge, make exercise fun and competitive.

Food Plan

Last Saturday we went to an afternoon play and had lunch beforehand.  I started my meal off with a spinach salad.

It was followed by beer-battered shrimp.  I even gave one to my husband after this picture was taken and selected broccoli instead of potato.

But then we decided to have dessert at a nearby old-fashioned drive-in.  I couldn’t resist getting a soft chocolate ice cream cone.  It’s so hard to find soft chocolate ice cream nowadays.

Calorie-wise Saturday wasn’t bad.  Super Bowl Sunday is when I went overboard in the calorie count (over 1700) with some pork ribs and potato skins for dinner.

Then it was back to plan for the rest of the week.

sausage-peppers

I should have planned to have some rice with this chicken sausage and peppers frozen dinner entree from Nutrisystem.  It was pretty good but has a lot of sodium.

This is the shelf-stable Chicken Pot Pie dinner.  It’s okay meaning I’ll eat it again but it doesn’t get picked until the box is getting empty. 🙂

Weigh-In

Since I ate within my daily calorie allotment most days and exercised three times I was hopeful for a loss.  I was down again for the fourth week in a row with a .6 pound loss.  That brings the total loss to:

-46.2 Pounds

I’m pretty happy with that but want to do better next weigh-in.

Challenges Ahead

We decided to just eat out once this weekend so had breakfast out after my Weight Watchers meeting instead of lunch today before Les Miserables. My only other outing this week will be to a movie screening Tuesday evening but dinner is planned for Panera beforehand where there are lots of good options.

How did your week towards great health go?
