Tales from the Scale: Back to Weight Watchers

Saturday I went back to my usual early morning Weight Watchers meeting and it was good to reconnect with my weight loss buddies there and of course, the best leader around.  The topic was about using dietary fiber to feel full.  I have no problem getting enough dietary fiber now that I have a fruit or vegetable with ever snack and meal.

Food Plan

I ended the week with extra weekly points and did a good job of healthy eating all week with the exception of Monday when I was traveling home.  Even then it wasn’t that I overate but that there wasn’t enough fresh fruits and vegetables.

easter_mealsThe picture above shows some of the meals I had this past week.  My favorite snack is any vegetable dipped in the amazing spinach and kale Greek yogurt dip from Trader Joe’s.

Our Easter meal included lean ham steak, fried potatoes, steamed asparagus and gluten-free cornbread.  Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures before we dug in!

Weigh-in

My weight was a little off the last reported weigh-in but that could be attributed to the difference in scales and the fact I was weighing with clothes on since it wasn’t my home.  :)

The total loss since starting my journey January 5, 2013 is:

-31.0 Pounds

I happily accepted the 5 pound star.  It was hard work getting that 10 pounds off again and it’s a new “low” for this time with Weight Watchers.

Challenges Ahead

My aunt passed away early this morning so my challenge is not to try to eat my feelings away.  I’m relieved she’s no longer in pain but very sad she lost her battle and that my cousin lost her mother.

Thankfully, there’s nothing else going on this week to take me off task and I hope it stays that way.

How did your week towards great health go?
