Tales from the Scale: A Reason to Celebrate

This is a couple of days late but we’ve been having internet problems.  Today’s my 20th wedding anniversary and we’ll be celebrating tonight.  I’ll share more about that later this week.

Food Plan

chicken-fried-chicken

Last week I spent four days away from home for a business trip to Nashville.  I took advantage of some of the local flavors such as the chicken fried chicken above, grilled pimento cheese sandwiches and more.

frittata

It wasn’t all bad though.  One morning I had the delicious egg white frittata shown above.  It had spinach, squash and avocado and was just 300 calories.

southern-dessert

I also had to enjoy Southern desserts.  I had peach cobbler three times!  When I got home it was back to Nutrisystem.

fettucine-alfredo

This is fettuccine alfredo prepared with broccoli in my lunch crock.

Fitness

kaia-fit-attendance

As you can see by the attendance board I did pretty good the month of April attending class. I had perfect attendance…. after my birthday.  We started a new BRIK session this week and I’m working on perfect attendance until leaving for vacation later this month.

I got a lot of walking in while in Nashville.  Our hotel was .6 miles from the conference site and I walked back and forth a couple of times a day.  Add in walking to dinner and I was over 10,000 steps every day. (Note if you follow me on Facebook, my Fitbit ran out of charge Friday!)

Weigh-In

There was another reason to celebrate this week.  My scale was down Monday.  I lost .6 pounds bringing the total loss on this journey to:

-49.6 Pounds

I’m going to work very hard to get rid of that .4 pounds this week to FINALLY hit the big 5-0!

Challenges Ahead

Other than dining out tonight for a celebratory dinner, there are not any special challenges this week.

How did your week towards great health go?
