We booked a great deal for our first cruise on Norwegian Cruise Line. A charter had been cancelled and there was a balcony blowout. We paid $399 a person for a week long cruise on the Norwegian Sun in a balcony. Sister M and her spouse also booked and it was departure day.
Xpress Shuttle picked Steve and me up at 4:15 am and we were at the San Diego airport by 5 am. Checked in our bags at Delta and made our way through security.
We grabbed breakfast and a newspaper and boarded the plane. The flight was full was left on time arriving in Atlanta 20 minutes early. We grabbed lunch at Chick-Fil-A (we didn’t have one locally) before finding out gate and meeting up with Sister M and her husband.
We had a smooth, sort flight as I caught up with my sister. Once we arrived and picked up luggage we went to shuttle dispatch. We had reservations with Go Shuttle to drive the four of us to Holiday Inn Doral. The fare was $74.
There was heavy rain on the way and it took an hour because of the heavy traffic. We had non-smoking King rooms that we reserved via Priceline for $55 each.
After settling in we walked to a nearly restaurant, Doral Ale House, for dinner. We all enjoyed our choices (grilled mahi-mahi, prime rib sandwich, BBQ ribs and pork cutlets). Afterwards it was back to the room for a a good night’s sleep.
