Norwegian Epic: Moderno

KayLynn · July 22, 2017 · Leave a Comment

After a full day touring from our port stop at Civitavecchia our experience onboard Norwegian Epic continued.  We had 6:45 pm reservations for dinner at Moderno, a brazilian steakhouse specialty restaurant.

After a pre-dinner cocktail at Shakers we met at the restaurant and checked in on time.  We were promptly seated at a four top next to the row of 2 tops by the window.

Our waiter introduced himself and explained the process and took drink orders.  Sister T and I ordered strawberry Strawberry Caipirinha which is one of the restaurant’s specialty cocktails.

The four of us then headed to the salad bar.  I had to work at not taking so much so I could eat more meat.

We had a basket of Brazilian cheese bread which was warm and very delicious on the table.

Almost as good as Fogo de Chao

After salad, we were ready for the meat to come and it did just that fast and furious.  I took filet mignon wrapped in bacon, a chicken Parmesan drumstick and sirloin beef.

The chicken and sirloin were awesome.  Others took sausage, grilled pineapple.  They also came by with pork loin, lamb chops, beef ribs and probably more I can’t recall.

Our server brought the side dishes as well which were all delicious: mashed potatoes, rice and black beans and sweet plantains.  I had to give up too soon although my brother had seconds on the grilled pineapple.  We then ordered dessert and coffee.

Two of us had the chocolate-coconut tres leches cake…

and two had banana tartlets with meringue.

We all enjoyed the meal but it was impossible to finish due to being so full.  The coffee was only lukewarm and the server offered to replace it after we mentioned but we declined;  just wanted to let them know so they wouldn’t serve it to more people.

We all skipped entertainment tonight after two days of touring in a row and headed to our cabins.  To my surprise my laundry was waiting for me in a basket on the bed.

The bundle was wrapped in tissue paper and inside folded neatly.  A great deal and job well done.

We also had an elephant hanging out on the bed!
