When I started planning what we were going to eat this week, I thought back to where we were just a month ago. Sometimes we didn’t grocery shop for 2-3 weeks and every night we’d be looking at each wondering what to eat. Many nights it was cheap takeout which as you know isn’t the healthiest.
If you don’t plan your weekly menu, why not give it a try just once and see if it makes a difference to you?
Recap
I need to start making notes on the weekly plan because it can be hard to recall what we actually did eat as opposed to what was planned. Here’s the recap as I remember it. 🙂
Monday: Grilled Sirloin Steak with baked potatoes and vegetable
Tuesday: Grilled Cheese and Soup
It turned out to be a night for leftovers. We made sandwiches out of the Mexican meatloaf.
Wednesday: Mediterranean Pork Chops with ziti pasta and vegetable
This was a meal I bought from Dinner Studio which packages meals ready to be cooked. I liked it but my husband prefers those Shake N Bake pork chops! The side vegetable was zucchini.
Thursday: Costco Roasted Chicken with sides TBD
Our sides turned out to be green beans and tator tots. I love this roasted chicken!
Friday: Chicken Caesar Salad
We had garlic toast with the salad. Yum!
Saturday: Tortilla crusted tilapia, fried potatoes and vegetable
We took advantage of a buy one get one free lunch coupon at Outback so just had grilled cheese and Progresso Light soup in the evening.
Sunday: OPEN
We had slow cooker roast with onion gravy, green beans and low-fat macaroni & cheese. This way I didn’t have to prepare much while watching the big game!
Meal Plan
The weekend will probably have a change but I don’t know which night. My son is in town and we’ll definitely have dinner together one evening.
Monday: Jerk Style Chicken with brown rice and corn
Tuesday: Beef Soup (made with beef, stock and onion gravy left over from Sunday)
Wednesday: Chicken Sausage, Beans and Rice
Thursday: Spaghetti with turkey meatballs, green salad
Friday: Tilapia with baked potato and green beans
Saturday: Leftovers
Sunday: OPEN
