Liberty of the Seas: Disembarkation

KayLynn · April 3, 2022 · Leave a Comment

It’s the day we get kicked off the ship.

Disembarkation Morning

I was up early and went to the usual coffee spot where my sisters joined me shortly.  Sherwin, the coffee server,  wasn’t working yet and his supervisor said he’d be there at 5:30.

Checked my account on the app and noted my final bill.  This was the amount after $225 in onboard credits were applied.

I got my second cup to go and finished packing up stuff in the room except for last minute toiletries. About 10 minutes before the Windjammer opened at 6, I headed back to the café and gave Sherwin a tip.  He was very surprised and appreciative.  Makes me sad more people didn’t tip him.

We settled in at a table for four and had our last meal aboard.

Back at the cabin I got ready for time to leave. At 7:35, we stopped by our sisters’ cabin and all of us headed to 4 at 7:45 but they weren’t ready for us to leave. We waited on opposite side of 4 and watched the dolphins and water traffic.

We even saw a man-o-war!

Finally, group 4 luggage was ready and it was a very easy off. We found our bags and went right out to the busses. We were on the second bus so it took a while to fill up and leave.

The bus arrived at the airport and terminal C was unloaded first. I said good bye to the other three (all flying United) and stayed on for terminal A and American Airlines.

I finally got through security at 10:37 am. Thank goodness I had priority status and TSA precheck for shorter lines to check bag and security. Started checking out eateries for lunch as my early breakfast was wearing off after 11 am.  I found the Hubcap Bar and Grill.

It’s a very small eatery with limited seating but happened to find a solo seat.  Prices were quite reasonable for an airport.

I went with the cheeseburger and tater tots.

It was good and all to soon I boarded my flight to Dallas.  Then I had a short layover before the longer flight to San Diego.  It went uneventfully.  Unfortunately ride share rates were super high when I landed and I ended up paying $77 before tip for Lyft.  I was glad to be home after a wonderful trip.
