Liberty of the Seas: Cozumel

KayLynn · December 22, 2017 · Leave a Comment

The first port of call on our Liberty of the Seas cruise is Cozumel.  Everyone is excited to spend the day at Nachi Cocum.

We met at the main dining room for breakfast.  Selections included an open faced omelette…

Pancakes and bacon…

French toast…

and eggs benedict.

I also went to cereal and fruit “buffet” in the main dining room.  I really like the idea so I don’t get fruit I don’t want (cantaloupe for instance) and can load up on the ones I do like (pineapple).

We then left the ship and took advantage of a couple of photo opportunities.

Another photo.

Everyone was ready to get to the beach so we headed through the shopping area directly to the taxi line.  Since there were six us we got a van and the prices are clearly posted.

This picture is from my  September cruise  but there wasn’t a change.

Nachi Cocum

It was about a 20 minute ride to the beach club.

When we arrived, we took a photo (which I had to buy).

We checked in at a desk in the restaurant seating area.

We were then free to pick our chairs at the pool or on the beach.

Here’s where the only sour note of the day occurred.  I booked six of us and expected to have two palapas since there are four chairs per palapa.  The employees told me one palapa per reservation.  So, if I had made three separate reservations I could have three palapas but because I made one reservation for six, I could only get one.

That didn’t fly with me and I pursued it until they let us have two palapas but we had to move ones that weren’t in the front row.  Their issue is they are down 8 or so palapas but that’s not my problem.

We settled in and ordered drinks from our waiter Manuel.

Steve and I had margaritas all day.

J and A2 arranged for a couples massage ($100).  A and Y explored the grounds. 🙂

We all enjoyed the water.

And the beautiful weather.

We ordered food after a while and between all of us tried a large number of items.

The prices were irrelevant as everything was included but note they are in pesos; not dollars.

J and A2 had the seafood ceviche.

Not my thing but I loved my guacamole and chips.  Steve had nachos.

Then we had lunch later on.  I had grilled shrimp…

And a shrimp cocktail.  The grilled shrimp was good; the cocktail was okay.

Steve had enchiladas.

I know Y ordered the breaded shrimp and it was very good.  J and A2 had cheese quesadillas; not sure what else was ordered.

At some point, we decided it was time to head back to the ship.  Our waiter called for a taxi and we tipped him as we left. We all enjoyed the day!

Evening

Steve didn’t make it to dinner tonight after getting the most from the all-inclusive day. 😉  Tonight we had the Basil menu.

Starters included cream of mushroom soup…

Crab cake…

And smoked duck breast.

Entrees included short rib pasta…

Chicken cordon bleu…

And cod.

Desserts included apple pie (my choice)…

Jaffa cake…

Rum baba…

And the sugar free tart.

After dinner I went to the cabin and watched Netflix on my iPad.  Since Steve was sleeping in cabin there wasn’t a towel animal.
