Jewel of the Seas: Chops Grille

KayLynn · August 22, 2018 · 3 Comments

We went to the Chops Grille for the first time on our recent Jewel of the Seas cruise.  This is Royal Caribbean’s steakhouse and I made the reservations online during a cruise planner sale.

The restaurant opened at 6 pm which was when we had reservations and we were the first ones checking in.  After a brief wait, we were seated at a two-top by the window.

Our waiter introduced himself and brought us bread while we perused the menu.

I loved the cream cheese with paprika (top option) spread on the onion focaccia bread while my husband preferred the traditional butter.

We each selected two starters.  I had the crab cake first.

Steve’s first selection was shrimp cocktail.

He enjoyed it but wished there was one or two more in the serving.  Next he had the fried goat cheese salad.

I selected the cream of mushroom soup.

For some reason I wasn’t in the mood for a steak (even though it was a preplanned steak house meal) so I selected the grilled branzion for my entree.

My photography skills don’t do it justice.  I loved the fish including the crispy skin.  The spinach not so much.

Steve went more traditional with the bone-in ribeye.

I didn’t know the windows had cast weird lighting on the photo so the steak looked much better in real life!

I had ordered the scalloped potatoes for a side while Steve had a baked potato.

Believe it or not we made room for dessert!  Our selections were the chocolate melting cake and apple pie; both ala mode.

Unfortunately, I only got a picture of the apple pie.  The chocolate dessert was the better of the two.

The service was good throughout our meal but a little slower paced than we like.  That didn’t matter too much when we had a beautiful view in front of us!

I would definitely book Chops Grille on a future Royal Caribbean cruise; especially if there’s a sale in the cruise planner.
