Harmony of the Seas: Sea Day 1

KayLynn · July 13, 2023 · Leave a Comment

Its the first sea day this sailing of the Harmony of the Seas. The only plans we have is the top tier event at 10:30 am and dinner at Chops at 5:15 pm.

Sea Day Morning

I woke up about 7 am and Sister M was already up. I had coffee in the promenade and talked to both my sisters before we went our separate ways for breakfast. They went to the bistro while I went to Park Cafe.

It was not busy an I had a very good breakfast sandwich.

After enjoying the peace of Central Park I would normally go to the pool but we have a top tier event at 10:30.

I don’t remember what I did other than get a mocha.

Met my sisters and had a front row seat at the event. I enjoyed a mimosa while a guitarist played. Then the cruise director came out and it started. All I can say is Captain Johnny is very funny.

Captain Johnny and his executive team including CD on the right.

Sea Day Afternoon

We went to the main dining room for brunch (lunch).  Can’t complain about the view!

I started with baked potato soup which was pretty good.

Since we’re going to the steakhouse tonight for dinner, I had cod for lunch.

Other than the strange raisins on it, I enjoyed it very much.  I tried the coconut cake for dessert but it was too dry.

Afterwards was very relaxing and I finished a book I’d been reading all week.

Sea Day Evening

We had 5:15 reservations at Chops and I met my sisters there. The bread basket had our favorite onion and pretzel rolls.

I ordered a pink grapefruit sparkle but it was different than what I had last year on the Oasis.

For starter I went with the shrimp cocktail.

Good as always. Then for the soup/salad course I had the crispy goat cheese salad.

I got the 6 ounce filet.

It was cooked perfectly and very good. My sisters had the ribeye which also looked good.

Our waiter brought an entrée for us to share.

I really enjoyed the shrimp but Sister T and I couldn’t eat it all.  The sides I ordered was asparagus and mashed potatoes which we had to remind him about.

For dessert I had the chocolate cake which was excellent along with coffee.

When we got back to the cabin, a mermaid was waiting for us!

Tonight Sister M and I are going to the headliner act but first I went to peruse the shops. I wanted to buy a branded coffee travel mug but didn’t find one.

There was a sign at the zoom desk that the satellite connection was down and they were working on it. I felt sorry for the poor employee that had to stand there and listen to complaints from people.

Also went by the photo shop and picked one of our embarkation photos to buy using my free photo benefit.

The headliner tonight was Ron Lucas a ventriloquist.

He was very entertaining. The internet came back right before the show ended. It was about 3 hours of outage.

Here’s today Cruise Compass.  Click the image for the full PDF.
