Harmony of the Seas: Falmouth, Jamaica

KayLynn · July 15, 2023 · Leave a Comment

Today Harmony of the Seas is docking in Falmouth, Jamaica. We didn’t have plans here other than maybe going to Margaritaville.

Hurricane Ian Update

My husband lost power overnight and is having a heck of a time trying to keep up with the water coming up the sliding glass door.

Projected path as of this morning

Fortunately as of this morning the center of the storm is due to hit south of Ormond Beach (which is directly north if Daytona Beach).  He said the noise of the wind was the worst part.

The radar map shows the rain pummeling the area. I didn’t sleep well as I was worried about him.

Falmouth Morning

For breakfast we had Windjammer and by going when it opened didn’t find it too crowded.

I had a made to order omelette along with a chocolate croissant, potato croquette and cheese.

After breakfast we decided to just look at the port shops as it was an hour earlier there (ship’s time didn’t change). I didn’t see anything I needed to buy but Sister M found a couple of t-shirts.

I went ahead of them onboard as it was hot and not much for me to see. Got ready for the pool and found a lounger.

The pool temperature was perfect. Enjoyed a bloody mary while drying off a bit.

Falmouth Afternoon

About noon went to the Park Cafe for lunch. Of course I wanted another kummelweck sandwich.

The meat was rare but good. Also had walnut coconut cookies I’d not seen before.

Sister M came down while I was there and I tried a tuna melt while she had a kummelweck. It wasn’t heated enough but good.

Then it was time for a nap since I didn’t sleep good last night. Afterward I got ready for dinner. It was pouring outside and this went on for hours. Went to the diamond lounge for snack since dinner is bit later tonight at Jamie’s.

Jamie’s Italian and Evening

Met my sisters and we walked through the rain to the restaurant with the last umbrella by the central park entrance. Juan was our waiter and we had excellent service from him. Sister M brought a bottle of wine she was gifted from the casino.

We started with a meat plank and the garlic bread.

The meat plank was impressive and we all three enjoyed the plank.

I like the 150 Central Park bread more. For appetizers, Sister T had a small portion of carbonara, Sister M had a small portion of pomodoro and I had a Caesar salad.

I had a taste of Sister M’s pasta and enjoyed it. For entrees, Sister M and I ordered lasagna.

while Sister T ordered the short rib. The lasagna was good but I think the noodles should have been thinner. It was also very rich and I could only eat half. Sister T really liked her entrée.

Somehow I still had room for dessert. Sister M and I picked the brownie.

The salted caramel ice cream was over salted but otherwise very good. Sister T enjoyed raspberry sorbet.

We parted ways afterwards (still raining) and I lost my daily $20 to the casino. I watched more hurricane news until time to meet Sister M for the comedy show. It was two comedians and we enjoyed the first one, Dan White, more.

All of us called it a night shortly after that.
