Yay! We made it through the week and I now have five days off. I can’t remember the last time I was home this long without spending a day in the office. I’ll be taking a planned break from the blog (unless there’s something I can’t resist sharing) but will be back with reflections and goals afterwards.
1. Before and After. One of the traditions at my company’s annual holiday party is pictures in front of a Christmas tree. Looking back at last year’s you can really see the 55 pounds my husband and I lost in 2013. It’s hard to change our lifestyle but we are doing it. I can’t wait to redo this collage next year to see the two year progress! 2. New Computer. In addition to buying a gym membership during Black Friday there was one other item I bought. My desktop computer was starting to have problems so I decided to take advantage of the sales to replace it. I bought an All-in-one with Windows 8 and touch screen technology. I am not liking Windows 8. It can’t decide whether to act like a desktop or a tablet so it’s not good at either. Another pain has been reinstalling all the programs I use or in the case of Microsoft Money, replacing it. This sunset-ted program doesn’t run on Windows 8.
3. Holiday Treats. My office has been full of holiday goodies since the Thanksgiving holiday. We’ve had candy, cookies and pastries galore. One of the places the treats are placed is right outside my office and I can’t go outside my door without passing it. Some days I can ignore it and others I can’t. Hopefully today is the last day I’ll have to deal with it until next year!
4. TV Shows. It seems that every TV show I watch is taking a 2-3 week break right now. That gives me more time to clean my house and exercise, right? I hope I do use the time wisely. But I can’t wait until The Biggest Loser returns to find out who’s getting back on the ranch.
5. Christmas Guests. My stepson and his wife will be arriving this weekend from Georgia to spend the holidays with us and the rest of their family in the area. We’re going to have two dinners this year; one on the day and a second one with my husband’s family later in the week. My menu has ham and … I haven’t gotten farther than that in planning. I’ll be finalizing the menu for this meal and the rest of the week this weekend.

You two look gorgeous – love that dress! Let me know if you want Quicken or Mint at discount, although I don’t think either of them is pricey to start with but free or almost free is better.
Have a great Christmas with the family!

My house will be filled with houseguests and sweets. It may be a perfect storm of temptation based on stress. See you on the other side of the holidays!
