Empress of the Seas: Sea Day 1

KayLynn · April 30, 2020 · Leave a Comment

We put our clocks back an hour last night. It was so rocky that I dreamed I had fell off my bed and was sleeping on the floor.

Day at Sea

I got up at 6:30 and went down to the coffee shop for a mocha latte before heading to the lido area where I waited for one or both of my sisters to show up. We did eventually all meet up and went to breakfast at the buffet.

I had a Bloody Mary to wash it down.

Water was sloshing all out of the pool and running over the deck. The rockiness was so bad, I didn’t do any activities during the day and the pool was drained until the late afternoon.  I did go to guest services and buy an airport transfer. It was $30 to FLL. Everyone else is going to MIA.

Also got my platinum pin.  Don’t know that I’ll ever wear it.

Lunch must not have been memorable except for my favorite dessert on Royal Caribbean; ranger cookies!

Evening at Sea

It was formal night and the top tier event was at 5 pm.

Before leaving I took a selfie for my husband.  This is the first time I wore my new “formal” sandals.

I went to that and had a couple of rum punches.

They served drinks but no appetizers. The captain spoke and all the officers were introduced. They recognized the top three cruisers (by points).

At dinner I learned from Sister M that my nephew took his son down to the infirmary so of course they didn’t join us.

Here’s the kids menu.

I started with lobster bisque.

My entree choice was the tenderloin which was wonderful!

For dessert I had my husband’s favorite carrot cake.

Sister M called her cabin before we left the dinner table and learned her grandson tested positive for influenza B. He is confined to his cabin for 24-48 hours. The ship’s medical team will do a temperature check before releasing him. We’re hoping he gets released to get off at Costa maya but his plans for tomorrow in Roatan are cancelled.

My sisters and I took a couple of photos after dinner.

Sister T and I are walking on water, LOL.

Sister M and I went to the 8:45 pm production show and enjoyed a cocktail while waiting. The show was okay; I felt the song choice and arrangements weren’t that good.

Then it was off to bed as we are heading into four port days in a row.
