Covid-19: August Update #socialdistancing

KayLynn · August 16, 2020 · 1 Comment

It’s been nearly a month since my last post.  We’re doing well and sticking to routines (by that I mean diet, exercise and social distancing).  I just haven’t been inspired to write. Why?

It’s boring staying home day after day plus the feeling of hopelessness as Americans as case counts and deaths rise.  I’ve decided to scale it back to less frequent updates unless until inspiration strikes again.

Month in Review

Yes staying at home is boring but we did break out for a mini-vacation locally.  I will share more about that in a separate post.

We also are up to 2 miles on our daily walks.  The picture at the top is one of the interesting plants I saw along the way.  I have no idea what it is but it struck me as unique.

I’ve also lost a few more pounds and will have more to share about that in a keto update (yes I promise!).

Shopping

I have yet to be in any stores other than grocery stores although that’s changing today.  The new toilet seat cover isn’t elongated enough and needs to be returned to Kohl’s.  Otherwise our outside shopping is brief and for me no more than once a week.

My credit card is offering a bonus category for Amazon purchases up to a maximum of $75 cash back.  It’ll be interesting to see how much I earn in a quarter. 🙂

We do pick up take out food one dinner a week for a break from cooking.  I haven’t cooked so much since my sons were growing up and I had two “starving” kids to fill.

This coming Month

There’s nothing to look forward to in September although we did book a mini getaway for October to have something to look forward to.  Plus it’s one more month closer to a vaccine.

I’m hoping San Diego gets taken off the governor’s watch list as we’ve met the criteria for three straight days (plus more probably now).  How has your #pandemic month been?

It’s the same thing over here: all food and home goods delivered to our door, a couple of dinners each week delivered from a local restaurant (we want to support them and we get tired of the healthy prepared meals we eat the rest of the time), and -except for this week due to the heat – going for a run or riding my bike in the garage first thing in the morning. Considering that we are spending about 22 hours a day, every day together, we are doing surprisingly well over here!
